I am to be shipped in a fine Ship bund for Australia. She is to sail on the 26th of this month & I will get £2 per month. I not going to be starved the same as I was aboard of the Chism. I supose that dog ……… is dead. Tell John?………. he would well m(e?)…………. home on Potatoes ……. than at Sea …………. & Bark (may be borak, meaning banter, ridicule. Australian and N.Z. slang.) the Sailors? …. than a house of …….. but I have chose it …… I intend to Stick to it but I do not (want?) to be an apprentice any longer.
