The James Cumine Parkinson Letters

Letter 287

Iron Pot,
July 25th 1882
My dear Grandma,

I received your letter about three weeks ago and also the pretty card which Aunt Frances sent me.

Mamma has been very busy knitting Papa some stockings. I hope you have got the box by this time.

There is a Japanese war ship up in Hobart. It has been in a fortnight now so I suppose it will soon be going out again. Mamma is going up to town very soon for a change. Mama says she hopes you received Mrs Babington’s portrait. Charlie is just beginning to talk so nicely he can say Mama and Papa quite plainly. I know the piece of music you sent me (Prince Albert’s band march).

Mrs Cunningham still keeps Papa supplied with Melbourne papers. I do not think I have any more news this time.

So with much love to Aunt and Uncles,

I remain dear Grandma,

Your loving grandchild,

A.C. Parkinson
