Letter 218

Hobartown
Sept 4th 1875?
My dear Mother,

I hope that you will not think it unkind of me for not writing to you before this but I hope that these few lines will find you all well. I suppose that James has told you in his letter of our increase and that you have got another grandaughter. She was born on the 12th of August at five minuted to nine o’clock in the evening after 36 hours sufring but thank God all went on all rite. I had to get the doctor for this one. She is very cros but I suppose she will get better … I intend to call her Maria Christina. That is the name James wishes me to give her. I got a letter from him last week and he was quite well. I hope to see him soon. The children is in grate way to get home to see their Papa. They are all well. I was glad to hear that George was better. I hope that all at home is well. James told me in his letter that you did not receive the shells yet. I think it very strange as Luke sent them by the carpenter of the Ethel but I will see about them when the Ethel comes back. She is expected in soon

Pleas to give my love to all at home and except the same from your loving daughter, Christina Parkinson

I shall rite more next mail.
