Letter 165July 10th 1869 34 South St, Battery Point, My dear Mother, I was rather disappointed at not getting letter this mail and James will think it so strange to get papers and no letters but hope that all is well at home and hope to get one next mail. Do not think that James will be able to write this mail for he leaves Sydney to late to rite hear so that you will not look for one from him, I hope that Sam likes his employment and that it will agree with his health. Am sorry to tell you that dear baby has got very bad cold. Hope that it will soon be better, wanted to get her carte taken to send to you but they say that she is to lively she is wonderful child for she calls her dad dad she will soon be telling auntie and uncle not forgetting Grandmamma. I hope that she will be spared to us for she is such littel comfort to me when James is away, have not seen him this month for he lost his passage last time. The steamer came in but hope to see him on Saturday next. Please to ask Kate to send me her cart for should like to have you all in Tasmania, also the uncles for I know James would like them. I forgot to tell you that Miles is not going home to London for this six months as they are waiting for word. We did not see much of him as he was so busy with the ship. I sent you piece of baby’s hair last mail hope that you will get it. Mother and all friends sends there kind regards to you all. Please to give my love to all and and accept the same from your loving daughter Christina Parkinson P.S. Not forgetting dear James Love to you all. |
