The James Cumine Parkinson Letters

Dear Mother,

We were rather disipointed at not reseving letter this mail but hope to get one next mail. I am very happy to tell you that James has something to do on shore in store so that he will be more settled in his mind. Dear Anne is quite well and will soon walk and has got six teeth. I hope that you have got her likeness before this. Must try and get another taken of her when I can for James says that she is so mutch like him when he was her age. She is clever child for her age. You must excuse James for righting to you this time but he says he will send you long one next time.

I hope that you all spent a merry Christmas and happy new year and that Uncle Sam is getting better and has something to do by this time for am sure that James will be very glad to hear that he is able to do somethung for himself. Please to give my love to all at home not forgeting dear James love to all and now must conclude as I have to go to James.

P.S. I forgot to tell you that there is a young man friend of James going to London of the name of Lindsay. His father is Baptist minister in Hobartown but I can not tell you the name of the ship. He will rite to you when he gets to London. He sailed from Sydney. You must excuse this.
