The James Cumine Parkinson Letters

Letter 140

November 22, (Probably 1866)
13 Warwick St
Hobartown
My dear Kate,

I now sit down to answer your letter to James which came to hand on the 12th of this month and I am glad to hear that all was well. Dear Kate James was away from home so you see that I have taken the liberty of wrighting this time to you. It was his last words to me when he left me that I was to answer your letter when they came and I have just got a letter from James and he says that he is quite well and he thinks that they will be home on the 10th of next month. Dear Kate you see that we were not long married when he had to go and leave me. But I hope that he will soon leave the sea for he is tired of it now. I hope that by the time you get this that you have received James last letter to tell you that he is in his own at last. Dear Kate you must excuse these few lines for this time but when we get aquainted with one another I shall write more to you. But you know what is is to write to strangers at first so no more at present.

But believe me your ever loving sister in law

Christina Parkinsin

I sent you James love.
