The James Cumine Parkinson Letters |
Letter 105Almora, 30th July 1862 (?) 12 O’clock at night My dearest mother, As far as I can judge we will have a very pleasant passage of it as the Capt. and Officers appear to be very kind and agreeable. I hope that the uneasiness that you have suffered will not hurt your health as I think that you may look forward to seeing me in happier circumstances. A great weight is off my mind now as I am clear off and I only feel the regret of parting with you and dear Kate. I hope that God will have mercy on me and enable me to give my heart to him and enable me to keep from the cause of all my misfortunes. Do not fret as I feel all will be right yet, and as soon as I can I will send you something home to you and sisters as I have been an ungrateful brother. God bless and protect you all is the constant prayers of your Affect son, James C Parkinson. |
