The James Cumine Parkinson Letters

Letter 32

University Square,
My dear James, ( 0 )

I am happy to say that I have been able to get every in foundation? with regard to your letter in the first place there will be a vacancy on the first of May which if you wish to offer yourself you must go to the branch of the bank in Newry St Armagh and they will write a report of you.

You will have only £20 the first year after which you will rise in proportion to your merit. You will have to get two securitys each of £1000. I think I heard your Grandmother should be taken for one.

You would get your board and lodgings for £40 in one of the nicest houses of the kind in the town.

Mr Knox think you would do well to write to Mr Wallace? as he is a great friend of Mr McNeal of Parkmount and he is the great man of the Bank. I sent you back your letter.

I hope you are consulting your father on this subject. With kind regards to all I am your affectionate friend,

Mary Ann Knox

Tell your Mother the doll was a present for the little girl.
