The James Cumine Parkinson Letters |
Letter 23Friday 26th 49 (no month) Dear Mamma, I was intending to write to you before this but just put it off as I was limited in time. I had a letter from Grandma stating that her leg was much better and I hope it may continue so. I want you to ask Dada, if you please, to ask Mr Riddall if he would require a person in the capacity of clerk, as I heard that his present one is going away soon, and as young Corran dislikes the sea very much and understands accounts perhaps he might answer, or I believe his father would be glad to have it also if he could get and? Situation. I thought it better to acquaint Dada of it as he would see its propriety. I hope that you will succeed in what you were meditating as I would be glad to get any place to study where there would be any sort of comfort for there is none here. Give my love to Dada, Sam, Willy, George is to young to understand what that is. Also remember me to Mary and believe me ever your affect son, James C. Parkinson |
