My dear James,

As you requested me to write soon in Dada’s note I shall now tell you that we are very comfortably settled and look forward and are planning God willing where we will stow all our livestock I mean yourself and the children in a few months when we hope to have you all with is for some time. Since you wrote to Dada I have felt rather uneasy from the account you give of Cholera being so near you. Please do not let it be …… if the Lord is pleased to visit your City with that awful scourge - all I can do is strive to pray that he protect and preserve my dear James from it as well as others of our friends in particular Dada seemed to be pleased to hear that Mr L thought you would be fit to …. May the Lord edify your exertion and crown them with success is the earnest prayer of (all) your anxious Mamma. Dada says that he will have very hard readings for Priest’s orders. I was …ing my wish of having you with us and saving the expense of school now as keeping two houses is very expensive. We are retrenching as much as we can. Grandma has concurred at last to Dadas not keeping a horse as he was very uneasy at the expense it would incur as he would have been obliged to keep a boy to quiete .. of him and he finds himself so much stronger that he is able to walk much faster than formerly. I am quiet content also and there is a car … that he can hire occasionally. William D is to come I suppose next week with some things from Killough. I hope if Dada thinks well of it he will permit you to come and see us at Easter but do not say a word of it as I must have his consent. How long have you then of vacation. I trust the Lord is dispensing his work in your soul. Pray that he may give you a clear … and … a bright spirit within you. How is poor Uncle Edward. Will you give my kindest regards to him and say how much I felt for his sad bereavement and trust that he will be sanctified to his soul. How are the dear little children. We heard that Mrs K had the baby. I think you will be sorry to hear that Daniel Teer has lost the Post Office. It was offered to our friend Joe Surch but he would not accept it. Some trifling charges were brought against him. The people are quite indignant at it and are going to petition for him to be restored. I hope dear James that you will be careful of what you eat in particular and take care of what are your … good. Take care of your best pal? from …. How is Aunt K and family,

Your evr affectionate Mamma,

A.C.P.
