The James Cumine Parkinson Letters

Letter 6

Dungannon,
April 3rd (1846)

Dear Dada,

I am much obliged to you for allowing me to ask Mr Darley if I might go to Armagh at Easter as he has allowed me to go on Saturday and return on Tuesday. Please tell me how much money I will ask Mr Darley for as it would be better to get it from him than from Uncle Edward. I find the time pass twice as quick when I learn my lessons as when I do not. I suppose you know that Capt. Sanders’s son is come here. He is in the second class. He is a very quiet boy. Tell me all the news you hear. Give my love to Mamma, Grandmamma, Aunt, Brothers and sisters also Joe and Mrs Surch. Tell him to write to me.

I remain ever yours,

J.C. Parkinson

Campbell is very kind to me. I will write to Uncle Edward and tell him when he may expect me.
