The James Cumine Parkinson Letters

College,

My dear friend,

I have received your kind letter for which I am much obliged. Your friend is under a misapprehension, with respect to the plan practised here. Boys are generally about two years in Latin before they begin Greek. They at first well practised in Latin and commence Greek grammer when they go into Sallust.

I should think therefore that his son will not be put back in Latin. It is always my wish not to put boys back but rather to advance them, as far as possible.

I have the pleasure of saying that Mrs Darley’s health has been much improved by her sojourn at Bangor. We unite in kindest regards to Mrs Knox and yourself

Believe me, my dear friend, yours most sincerely,

J.R. Darley
