The Lascelles Letters

Letter 13

Limerick, Georges St
May 19th 1838

My dear Lucy,

I wrote to you three weeks since and directed my letter to you at Mr KcKittrick’s Downpatrick, which letter, I hope, you received, though probably your silence is owing to you expecting to hear from me again - as I promised. We propose to leave Limerick on Monday the 28th instant - shall stay a day in Dublin, and part of two days in Belfast, and trust that, God willing, we shall arrive safely at the Parsonage, Kirkcubbin on Friday evening the first of June. we wish you to be at Portaferry on the morning of that day about ten o’clock so as to be in time to go by the Mail car to our house - for that is the only conveyance I can think of will be in your power. I mentioned to you that you can bring the Vanny’s of Crolly’s Quarter with you, and we shall have time to look over the Killough leases and you may make out diner for yourself as well as you can, and have tea for us in the evening. Mr Mayne will give you every assistance in his power, and Hannah will attend you. Mr Robert Conolly the Methodist preacher is much liked, and patronised by the clergy of the established church here. He attends all the public meetings, and speaks at them with great talent and fluency. I hope Mrs Johnston, Mr and Mrs Parkinson, and children are well. Pray remember us to them. Mrs Lascelles and all the family join, in love, and best wishes to you.

I am my dear Lucy,

yours most affectly.

F.E. Lascelles
