Letter 11
Limerick

[first two pages of letter are missing]
… quarter. there was a birth the other evening when there was a grand
ball at the house it happened in. The Lady’s husband was playing which.
What happened above stairs was kept quiet, and as all appeared to go on
well the company were not informed of it for some hours and then they got
coddle etc. we expect a grand christening in a few days. In general the
people here are very healthy and our family are, thank Providence, not
complaining. My grandfather Lascelles was agent to Judge ward the founder
of the Bangor family. He took the pound fields about one hundred years
since to give and example to the Killough tenants to cultivate the strand,
and what I said to you was that I could not find the lease of two acres
of them. But the Bangor family know the circumstances and I told you in
confidence, but I may find it yet. All here join in love and regards
to you.
