The Lascelles Letters

Letter 9

Belfast
November 21st 1837

My dear Lucy,

We all arrived safely here on Wednesday last and have got very comfortable lodgings. Mrs Jardine is considerably better and we are to go to Dublin by the Day Mail on Thursday morning the 23rd instant. I can get four seats in the Limerick coach - we shall proceed whither and I intend to write to you next week from Mr Hodders. I suppose you have got your parcel. Mrs Johnston of Kirkcubbin promised Sophy that she would take charge of it. Mr Jardine left us a few days after you. Elizabeth has heard from him. He reached Athlone his headquarters quite well and is to come to Limerick to take her there. The journey appears to be of use to her. All here join in love and best wishes to you.

I am, Dear Lucy, in haste,

yours affect,

F.E. Lascelles.
