The Nannie Cinnamon and Kate Trimble Letters

Letter 62

Gambier Knox Co. Ohio

My dear Frances,

This I am sure will reach you in Killough and I look for a note when you have nothing better to do. I should enjoy a walk with you to and in the smooth green Castle Park. I am reading The Making of Ireland and its undoing by Alice Stopford Green wife of he Green who wrote the history of the English People.

How are Bessie and Kate and Maria and Sam and George. I hope the news of them will be such as will give you pleasure in communicating.

I was in Johnnies early in May. Last week Ralph (Johnnies eldest son) and his wife motored up and spent a day and two nights with me. They had long distance telephone communication with their little daughters. I heard the dear voices and Rogers also, he was with them. "Uncle Roddy" is a great favourite with them. He returns it ten fold. There is great deal of sickness here. the weather quite hot. Mosquitoes terrible at night. I have no bars up, as I did not need them till now. They are from the nearby drains. I wore an old pair of gloves to protect my hands last night. The noise of their approach always fills me with horror.

I am quite anxious to know how you will be situated ad located my dear young friend in the future. Do tell me you plans, I can enter fully into them

Are there bathers in Killough and Coney Island. Are any of the Atchincons or Russells remaining in the village. Or any of the Rogan name. What a host of memories writing to you awakens, some sad and some bright beyond what earth could give. Kate asked for Johnnies address It is
