The Nannie Cinnamon and Kate Trimble Letters |
Letter 61Gambier, Knox Co. Ohio 3/25/09 My dear Frances, Was there ever so busy a world or so rushing an age. I have tried so many times to write you a word of acknowledgement for your kind remembrance of me at Xmas and New Year and was unable to do so until. Accept my heartfelt thanks for the card at Xmas and New Year. They are both much valued by me. I hope this letter will find you (as your movements seem precarious) I write to your last address. I owe letters to all my friends in Killough. Will soon write to them I hope. Being so old I cannot accomplish all I want at a time or even a day. Have you a recent photograph of yourself that you could send me? I should like to have one of each of you. I am recovering from a slight illness. I look forward to visiting Johnnie and his wife and Roger their younger son who resides at home in spring about the end of May. Ralph their elder son resides near them. Glendals is a suburb of Cincinnati. The young men go to Cincinnati by rail or by automobile. The brotherly bond is very strong I am happy to say. We have a heavy snow storm. The trees are beautiful their branches covered with soft white snow. Gambier is surrounded by woods, the country delightful to drive through. The society charming. Dont retaliate please. Let me have a few lines soon. I trust that Bessie is getting over the winter comfortably. Anything affecting the liver is depressing to he spirits. I am sure she is no exception. Love warm and true is delighting myself with the hope of hearing from you soon. I am my dear Frances your attached old friend. K. Trimble The Ocean penny stamp is a great boon to me. |
