The Nannie Cinnamon and Kate Trimble Letters

Letter 30

Cincinnati,
Walnut Hills
May 6th 1863

My dear Miss Lascelles,

Your kind letter came safe and I need not say we area all thankful to hear from you once more as I hope in ten or fifteen days to leave with Mr Cinnamon for Europe and if spared to see you and some other dear friends. I shall only write a few lines. Brother William happened to be here when your letter came and he says father held the store near the church in Killough about which you enquire, for 12 or 13 years and paid rent for it to Mr Aichenson but how much rent yearly he cannot tell. If we had father's books we could tell but he did not bring any of them with him to this country. Father put up a threshing machine in the store part of the time he rented it. Uncle William rented it before father and if he should be alive and that I can succeed in finding him in New York he will be able to give me more exact information for you.

Many thanks for taking the trouble to write us the news about our old town. Mother's health is feeble. We will take her up to Gambier next week as she will remain with Kate till we return which I hope to do in September. We had two letters from Johnnie last week. We hear from him often.

All my small household join me in love to you.

I remain dear miss Lascelles
your sincere friend,

Nannie Cinnamon
